{"id":388,"date":"2009-06-07T14:03:59","date_gmt":"2009-06-07T14:03:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/refraction.co.uk\/blog\/?p=388"},"modified":"2009-06-07T22:49:12","modified_gmt":"2009-06-07T22:49:12","slug":"f1-going-back-in-time-lotus-and-brabham-in-2010","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/refraction.co.uk\/blog\/2009\/06\/07\/f1-going-back-in-time-lotus-and-brabham-in-2010\/","title":{"rendered":"F1 going back in time, Lotus and Brabham in 2010"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/refraction.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/06\/lotus49.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px\" title=\"Lotus49\" src=\"https:\/\/refraction.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/06\/lotus49-thumb.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Lotus49\" width=\"220\" height=\"330\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The FIA\u2019s cost cutting budget cap for F1 has spawned many different views and arguments, but the changes are certainly bringing some interesting news for the 2010 season.<\/p>\n<p>One of the great things is that a few of the great names names from F1 history are returning.\u00a0 So far we have <a title=\"Brabham\" href=\"http:\/\/www.classicteamlotus.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Brabham<\/a> and <a title=\"Team Lotus\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Team_Lotus\" target=\"_blank\">Team Lotus<\/a> both with entries for next year.<\/p>\n<p>As a bit of a Lotus geek, the Team Lotus entry is particularly interesting, for me at least.\u00a0 Essentially the Litespeed F3 team posted an entry for the 2010 F1 season and have secured the <a title=\"Classic Team Lotus\" href=\"http:\/\/www.classicteamlotus.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Team Lotus<\/a> name for their efforts.\u00a0 At first that might sound a bit strange but Nino Judge and Steve Kenchington, the team principle and director and engineering are both ex-Team Lotus so hopefully the name is safe in their hands.\u00a0 What\u2019s more they\u2019ve based the team in Norfolk which is Lotus\u2019s traditional home.\u00a0 With <a title=\"Mike Gascoyne\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mike_Gascoyne\" target=\"_blank\">Mike Gascoyne<\/a> on board they\u2019ve got the makings of a pretty good team there.<\/p>\n<p>The Brabham entry is a little less straight forward with the entry from Franz Hilmer using the Brabham name possibly being contested by the family of <a title=\"Jack Brabham\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jack_Brabham\" target=\"_blank\">Jack Brabham<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Now if only <a title=\"Tyrrell Racing\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tyrrell_Racing\" target=\"_blank\">Tyrrell<\/a> would turn up we\u2019d almost have a full set!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The FIA cost saving budget cap chas lead to a number of new teams joining F1 in 2010, with Team Lotus and Brabham rejoining the circus.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[8],"tags":[277,525,68,159,50,278,279],"class_list":["post-388","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-cars","tag-brabham","tag-cars","tag-f1","tag-fia","tag-lotus","tag-team-lotus","tag-tyrrell","entry"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/refraction.co.uk\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/388","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/refraction.co.uk\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/refraction.co.uk\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/refraction.co.uk\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/refraction.co.uk\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=388"}],"version-history":[{"count":3,"href":"https:\/\/refraction.co.uk\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/388\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":393,"href":"https:\/\/refraction.co.uk\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/388\/revisions\/393"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/refraction.co.uk\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=388"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/refraction.co.uk\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=388"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/refraction.co.uk\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=388"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
