So after a day of deliberations the FIA (Ferrari International Assistance) has concluded that McLaren don’t have the right to appeal\u00a0the drive through penalty applied to Lewis Hamiltons time after the Grand Prix at Spa.\u00a0 On it’s own this would seem like a fair decision – I might not like it but at least it’s a decision.<\/p>\n
However…<\/p>\n
During last years Japanese GP Vitantonio Liuzzi was given a drive through penalty that was the successfully appealed.\u00a0 The FIA\u00a0said last week that\u00a0of course this was\u00a0different because the chief steward at the Japanese race changed his mind. and admitted he was wrong.\u00a0 Unfortunately\u00a0the steward in question\u00a0says that’s not simply not true and has submitted\u00a0documents saying as much as evidence.<\/p>\n
Draw your own conclusions, but to me there’s something wrong with the sport, if you can call it that.\u00a0 It makes\u00a0me wonder why\u00a0I bother watching.\u00a0<\/p>\n
